House (1986)

Produced by the original Friday the 13th director Sean Cunningham, House is a horror/comedy starring William Katt as Roger Cobb, a horror novelist who moves into his deceased aunt's house (where his son mysteriously disappeared) to work on a novel based on his experiences in the war and ultimately find his son. He soon discovers that the house is evil as he becomes terrorized by ghosts. Excellent tagline ("Ding dong, you're dead.") and cameos provided by George Wendt as Cobb's neighbor and Richard Moll (Bull on Night Court) as the war vet Big Ben/Skeleton Ben (scared the shit out of me when I was little).
